OPEN SYSTEMS WI PAYROLL TAX UPDATE

Wisconsin has changes to their tax tables effective for all payrolls paid on or after OCTOBER 1, 2009. You should manually change the tables outlined below prior to calculating your first payroll in October. Performing this update right after performing Quarter-End Maintenance in Payroll would be an excellent time. You may ignore these changes if you do not have employees in Wisconsin.

You only need to make these changes in one company. Tax tables are shared between companies.

1. Choose File Maintenance from the Payroll Menu.

2. Choose Tax Tables from the File Maintenance Menu.

3. Enter the table ID you wish to change.

4. Enter the appropriate table data found below. (SEE NOTES BELOW)

5. Press <PgDn> to save each table.

NOTES:

You will be adding one additional bracket (line) to these tables. The net tax affect should be little change or a very small decrease for moderate wage earners, and about a 1% increase for those making over $115,000.

The last line in each table starts with eight 9s and .99 in the first column. This must be entered exactly as show.

If you see a table ID STXWIU, you may use the F3 (delete) to remove this table. This is an old head of household table that has not been used for several years in WI.
